Chilliwack B.C played host to Western Canada's largest national series, the Western Canadian Challenge featuring the top Rotax racers from all over the Western provinces and even reaching draws from Ontario and Quebec.

The Racelab Racing team once again showed their colors at the front of the pack this time absolutely dominating the field on Saturday in the Rotax Senior class with rain racing ace Michael Hogg at the wheel. The Lab had 5 drivers entered which included: Hogg (Rotax Senior, DD2), Hayden Ritter (Masters), Mikhail Goikhberg (Rotax SR), Bob Wakeling (Masters), and Kellen Ritter in the MiniMax.

In both senior categories the talk of the paddock was Michael Hoggs 4 pole positions claiming both Saturday and Sundays Rotax Senior and DD2 Top spots. Hogg didn't even give the field a chance while running roughly a second a lap faster than his closest competitors on several occasions throughout the weekend. On Saturday Hogg had a dominating victory in the Rotax Senior class while his team mate Mikhail Goikhberg had slightly less luck in the race however showing strong speed in the morning warmups, with times that would have put him in the top two rows.

Meanwhile in the masters category we saw Hayden Ritter take the top podium spot meanwhile teammate Bob Wakeling struggled a little with his 50 plus pounds of additional ballast that really created a difficult chassis for him to handle however he still managed a second place podium in his respective category.

Hogg Prepares for Victory

The RaceLab has upgraded our trackside presence with a new 20x30 custom fully enclosed canopy set up. The new tent holds up to 6 drivers comfortably giving each driver a great working environment and an increased level of comfort regardless of the weather conditions. The RaceLab pit spot is also equipped with a "Green" power solution using a Xantrex power inverter system which allows the team to run most of its equipment including its newly assembled data center without using a generator in order to reduce fuel emissions and noise throughout the day. The data center is setup to run both Unipro and Aim data systems so the team can manage its performance and technical information over the progress of the events and the year. April 9th,10th will mark the kick-off of the Western Canadian Karting Series as the West Coast Kart Club will host it's first event at the Greg Moore Raceway in Chilliwack, B.C. The Racelab Racing Team will be making its debut with its new driver line-up which includes:

With over 11 years of experience with the CRG chassis brand the Racelab team will be sure to put the italian frame back up front in several categories this season with a strong work ethic that is renound of the Racelab. The team has put a large investment this year into having the top resources of any Western Canadian operation including a AIM Powered Data center which will be used to monitor each drivers on track sessions and to investigate any possible imporovements that can be made in driving as well as the chassis and power train. Among other leading edge methods of testing and development the Racelab is surely to be once again a leader in the West.
